Art Articulation Visual Art Center, Summit New Jersey December 2, 2016
80 students attended from MK/MH with sending districts Rockaway, Wharton, Denville, and Rockaway Boro. Students attended a docent tour of 3 studio shows, participated in creating an art project aligned with the exhibit, as well as a lunch critique of the artwork that they produced together. Following the art project, high school students paired up with sending district students and re-visited the exhibits, sharing ideas, points of view, and general discussions about the artist's concepts and work.
This is the second year that the MHRD was able to sponsor this opportunity for the students which was well-received by everyone who attended.
Dayle Clifford who organized this event along with Karen Simonsen, are very grateful to Melanie Cohn, the Executive Director of the VAC, and to Daniel Bergman, the Director of Education and Community Engagement who both made this day possible.
